About the Studio
Glass is an intriguing material to me. It can last centuries but is broken everyday. The most abundant material on earth can be molded and manipulated to no end. Once the skills and techniques are mastered there is still more to learn. Its hard for me to call myself an artist when I feel as if I have been waiting to create nearly the entire time I have been working in glass. I am always seeking another look or perspective of an aspect of what I'm finding. I have been working with glass since 1999 in that time the last five years I have put together three studios. All were broken down by lack of funding. I feel as if the name of the studio defined what trials and tribulations I have been up against.
Finally I have gained a studio space to practice glass blowing. I am extending my hand to offer that place for the community to learn and work with glass. This has always been my intention. I have worked in various production environments and always wanted a place to do what I wanted to do. I felt my ideas of sharing and inclusion in the creative process is a goal of my body of work. I am passionate about working with others towards their education goals and showing the various things I have learned along the way. I invite anyone to bring their imagination and skills to the Glass House Studio.
